Superhero Day

Mercy Hospital Heroes Campaign Written by Brendan, Alex O Reilly, Mofe and Alexandria We participated in the Mercy Heroes Campaign just before midterm break. It was exciting as we had an opportunity to dress up as people we admire. Some of the younger children dressed as firemen, doctors and gardaí, our age group dressed up as historical/modern day figures that improve(d) lives e.g. Albert Einstein, Mother Teresa and Greta Thunberg. We brought in a minimum of €2 each to send directly to the Mercy Hospital- a total of €311.98 was raised. Some children brought in their own pocket money and savings! A sincere thank you for supporting this cause.

Space Boxes Astronauts/cosmonauts can take some personal belongings on their missions e.g. Chris Hadfield took his guitar, Karen Nyberg did her quilting. So we asked ourselves what we would bring on our missions......

The Ultimate Space Off

Dear Parents/Guardians,  As you may know, last week was Space Week and this week is Maths week. We have decided to do our annual bake off with a space theme in mind.  Cakes will be judged based on- Appearance and Taste.  A recipe needs to accompany the cake (Maths Week).  Bring in a cupcake sample if you do not want us to cut your cake. Bake off to be held next Monday and our judge is ready to come in! Thanking you,  Máire Goggin (5th and 6th)

Homework is a Waste of Time???

Homework is a Waste of Time??? Our class is participating in the Concern Primary School Debates Competition. Today members of our class, Matilda (captain), Eva and Sam were opposing the motion, "Homework is a waste of time." They travelled to Liscarroll National School where the debate took place. Our students faced tough opponents but overpowered them with their strong arguments and intelligent rebuttals. It was a class effort as behind each debater today was a team of researchers and advisers. Everyone really ought to be proud of themselves. I'm glad to say that homework is in fact, not a waste of time. Looking forward to Round Two. Comhghairdeas libh go léir!
